James W. Eyres, Managing Director Let me take a moment to describe my background. I spent an extended career with the Bank of America. In August, 1999, I opened my own independent practice, offering a range of personal financial planning and investment management services to individuals and families. In March, 2006 this practice became Piedmont Street Management.

On the Personal Financial Planning side, I am a Certified Financial Planner. I can give counseling and advice about budgeting, investment planning, stock options, real estate, estate planning, insurance, tax, and other issues.

On the investment management side, Piedmont Street Management is one of Charles Schwab's independent investment advisers. Our investment approach is fundamental, with an agreed asset allocation of cash, fixed income securities, mutual funds, and large capitalization common stocks recommended for most clients. The client must approve each investment decision in advance.

What is a
Certified Financial Planner?

James W. Eyres is a Certified Financial Planner, or "CFP." His license number is 056101. CFP is a title or designation conferred by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in Denver, Colorado.

To earn this designation, he had to complete eight semesters of training at UC Berkeley Extension, pass a two-day test, and work in the financial field for a number of years. He must meet continuing education requirements and swear to abide by the CFP Code of Conduct. This Code requires him to do what he would do anyway: set a high standard, and put the needs and interests of the client first and uppermost.

What is a
Registered Investment Adviser?

Piedmont Street Management is a Registered Investment Adviser in the State of California. This registration is required in California in order to manage investments up to $25 million for compensation. When we have more than $25 million under management then we will need to register instead with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

As a Registered Investment Adviser, we are authorized to give advice on securities and to manage client securities portfolios under contract with each such client.
